When the storm rages round
where are you to be found?
Battered by the wind and rain?
Cast about upon the waves?
Or hidden in the cleft of the Rock?
In the midst of the storm,
Peace can be found --
wholeness and well-being.
Though the wind and rain
may strengthen all the more,
you are safe in the cleft of the Rock!
Not just any peace,
but heavenly peace,
God's perfect peace,
the Prince of Peace's peace,
the peace that surpasses all
we understand or imagine.
It is the peace
that binds up and guards
the divided heart and mind.
It is the peace
that makes the broken whole.
Like a dove,
hidden in the cleft,
amidst the raging storm,
may we find peace.
